About Us
Located in downtown Historic St. Charles, we are a cozy cat lounge and adoption center. We founded Cat Zen eager and excited for the opportunity to connect cats with people. Our free roaming cat lounge serves as a temporary sanctuary for cats waiting to find their forever home while providing a bright and joyful space for our customers.
We typically foster 12-20 cats and kittens in our cat lounge at a time. Guests can enjoy 30 minute, 60 minute, and private sessions in our cat lounge. We offer special events each month such as Yoga with Cats, Arts and Cats, and Painting with Cats. All events are posted on our reservation page.

You do not have to be interested in adopting a cat to visit our cat lounge. You can simply visit with our adoptable kitties and enjoy all the love our feline friends have to offer with no commitments or strings attached. Your visit helps to socialize and prepare our cats for their new home.
Looking for other ways to support? You can shop merchandise in our Cat-ique located in our lobby and/0r purchase a beverage and snack. All proceeds benefit our rescue cats.

Our founder, a lifelong lover of all things cats, and social worker by profession, felt an inner calling to start a socially conscious business that would help tackle feline homelessness by increasing adoption rates in the community. After researching and visiting several cat cafe's, the spark was lit, and plans to open Saint Charles first cat cafe was put in motion. With the support of family, friends, and the community Cat Zen Cafe and Lounge was born. Cat Zen's goal is to find FURever homes for all cats placed in our lounge....one cat at a time.
